Wrexham AFC's Anthony Forde has expressed gratitude to co-owner Ryan Reynolds for arranging a crucial second opinion that revealed a more optimistic prognosis for his wife Laura's inoperable brain tumor.

Initially facing a devastating diagnosis with a shortened life expectancy, Laura underwent a biopsy abroad organized by Reynolds, unveiling a benign grade 1 Thalamic pilocytic astrocytoma.

Though still inoperable, this diagnosis offered a glimmer of hope compared to the initial grim prognosis. In the Welcome to Wrexham series, Forde highlighted Reynolds' pivotal role in their journey.

"It just didn't feel like it was real," Forde noted.

"The gaffer told the owners about the news and they reached out. Ryan helped get a second opinion. It's something that he doesn't have to do, he doesn't have to do that."

The emotional story revealed that Laura first noticed an issue with her left arm when her newborn was three days old.

"I'm now left with the options to either get it removed (more surgery) or leave it there?!" she noted.

A poignant moment occurred when Laura shared a heartfelt hug with Reynolds before a crucial match against Yeovil Town, leading to the Dragons' promotion one step closer to the EFL.

Wrexham, currently third in League Two, continues their promising form into the new season, fueled by the unwavering support of co-owner Ryan Reynolds.
