I’m A Celebrity fever has once again gripped the country as the three-week-long reality show starts off for 2018.

Sunday night saw 2018’s debut episode kick proceedings off, as the celebrities began their journies in the Australian jungle. With an average of 11 million viewers, peaking at 11.9 million on the night, Sunday marked the series’ most successful launch show in five years.

The ratings, up a mammoth 750,000 from 2017, is the biggest overnight ratings of 2018 of any show other than the summer’s World Cup.

This year’s I’m A Celebrity sees Holly Willoughby join Dec in the jungle, as Ant recovers from a well-documented drink and drug problem. Celebrities in the jungle include former football manager Harry Redknapp, The Vamps’ James McVey and The Chase’s Anne Hegertey.

This evening’s trial saw The Inbetweener’s star Emily Atack face the Viper Pit, from which she emerged victorious with nine out of a ten possible stars.

Atack is an early favourite to win this year’s series, with Hegertey and John Barrowman coming in as second favourites, Redknapp at third. In terms of who looks set to be voted off first, Sair Khan and Malique Thompson-Dwyer are favourites in that category.
